My name is Jacqueline Heidin. I am 32 years old and I have a 5-year-old son Jordan. I also have a fiancé his name is Rich. I have been a volunteer firefighter for 14 years. I held various positions with the fire company such as secretary, board of director, trustee, vice-president and assistant engineer.
When I was pregnant with Jordan in 2011 I went into kidney failure. Over the next 3 years I maintained the best I could. In 2014 I needed to go on dialysis. I spent a little over 2 years doing dialysis every night for 10 1/2 hours while I slept. In 2016 my family and I spent a lot of time advertising on our cars and spreading the word that I needed and wanted a living donor. I was broadcasted on 2 local news stations and a local radio station. In October 2016 I found out that my best friend was a match and November 1st 2016 she was going to give me her kidney. Jordan started Kindergarten at Woodlyn Elementary in Ridley Pa at the same time I started college. This is all new to us and we are adjusting together. He is my rock and for little boy he is very intelligent and has helped me through so much. I since have started to go back to my volunteer firefighting, kickboxing and came back to college to pursue my dreams.
